Our culinary journey includes flavors from Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique, Goa, Macau, and Japan, showcasing the diverse and interconnected nature of Portuguese cuisine. OUR STORY
Volta do Mar is the realization of a culinary journey that my wife Isabel and I embarked on over many years. Through our travels, we explored our family history and the rich tapestry of cultures and cuisines that have interwoven across continents and seas. This voyage inspired us to create our restaurant, Volta do Mar, meaning "to return from the sea."
Our exploration revealed the deep influences of Portugal's maritime heritage on global cuisine, leading us to craft a menu that reflects this rich history. At Volta do Mar, we celebrate the fusion of flavours and traditions that have evolved from these cross-cultural exchanges, offering our guests a unique dining experience that honours the diversity of Portuguese food and culture.
